Voices of Augusta is a solo exhibition of works by local artist Francie Klopotic. The images on display in this showcase at the Augusta & Co. Gallery are painted portraits of local icons while using bright and vivid colors. This pallet, along with a glowing outline around the figures, brings these two-dimensional pieces to life. The individuals depicted almost vibrate with energy. The portraits on display range from well-known figures such as Jessye Norman and James Brown to locally-known such as DJ Codec and Coco Rubio. Francie Klopotic is inspired by music; painting artists she loves as a way to discover more about them and their work. For the viewer’s listening pleasure, the Gallery Director Heather Dunaway and Francie Klopotic have curated a playlist of local music to enhance the viewing experience of this showcase. You can find our Spotify playlist here.
Voices of Augusta will be up at Augusta & Co. from Jan 5th – March 30th, 2023 with an Artist’s Reception on Friday, February 3rd from 4:00 pm – 6:00pm.
