Greater Augusta Arts Council  Project Grant to Individual Artists

 

The Greater Augusta Arts Council advances vibrant cultural arts in Augusta’s River Region, thus enriching the lives of citizens and visitors, and fostering growth in the arts sector of our economy.

 

As part of this mission, the Arts Council manages the responsible and systematic distribution of City Arts Grant funds to arts nonprofit organizations in Richmond County.

As an extension of this function as a local arts agency, the Greater Augusta Arts Council has been awarded National Endowment for the Arts funds from the American Rescue Plan to allocate funds individual artists who reside in the CSRA for arts projects they are planning to create July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.

Q&A SESSIONS

To ensure an optimal application, we highly recommend attending the weekly zoom Friday Office Hours, every Friday 2-3 pm until May 13, for Q&A sessions:

Purpose: To support subgranting to the arts sector in response to and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with a committed effort to support projects in rural counties of the CSRA. The particular focus of this grant program is support the creation of new art in counties where the arts are not regularly supported by public funding. 

 

Additional Project Description: Subgrants will support individual artist stipends for specific programs and activities, during recovery from the devastating economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Intended Beneficiaries: The grants will help restore the local community’s cultural infrastructure, benefitting arts workers, artists, and audiences within the CSRA.

 

Intended Outcome: Artistic activities and traditions are supported to strengthen the nation’s cultural infrastructure.
