Augusta Canal issues call for submissions for public art project

Via AugustaCanal.com – “Artists interested in creating works inspired by the history and environment of the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area are encouraged to apply for a public art project commission by August 13. Augusta Canal Authority issued a request for qualifications for the project which offers $14,000 for the selected artist or artists’ team.”
The deadline for the submissions is by 2pm on August 13. An optional applicant orientation session will occur Thursday, July 19 that will include a tour of possible installation sites. Richmond County Schools receive $386K grant from Chestnut Family Foundation for art program in Hephzibah

Via augustachronicle.com – “The Richmond County School System has received a commitment from the Chestnut Family Foundation to support the implementation of an ArtsNow program in the Hephzibah area by providing up to $386,000.” Congratulations!

City Arts Grants Applications Open Now – Deadline August 2

Applications for FY19 grants through the City Arts Grants program are open now! This program distributes funds from the City of Augusta to arts-focused nonprofits based in Richmond County. The deadline for all application materials will be due by August 2.

 
New this year
  • Answers to narrative questions are requested in Microsoft Word Document format
  • Project grants have returned to a $5,000 maximum
  • The grading rubric used by panelists will be viewable by applicants
